Luxury accommodation domes first in NZ to feature bathroom pods
Six high-end bathroom pods, manufactured by Concision offsite manufacturing, are the first to be installed in luxury accommodation domes in New Zealand.
The six bathroom pods (including one accessible) are part of a new and unique high-country accommodation experience at Cross Hill Lodge and Domes, located on the shores of Lake Hāwea. At 7 metres in diameter, the geodesic domes were manufactured by Pacific Domes in Oregon, USA, and fitted out in New Zealand and include floor to ceiling windows, fireplaces and decks, as well as the luxury bathroom pods.
Concision was chosen to supply the bathrooms for its ability to provide a high quality product featuring a design aesthetic in keeping with the domes’ luxurious fit outs.
“Having our bathroom pods featured in these premium domes is a huge vote of confidence in our modern, sophisticated modular bathroom solution,” says Tony Whale, Concision GM.
“Another factor in using Concision’s bathroom pods was that we were able to provide five of the same bathrooms and one accessible bathroom of the same high standard, a concept often lost with other accessible bathrooms.
“We constructed the bathroom pods offsite in our Rolleston factory in two and a half weeks. We then delivered them, fully finished and ready to be connected to water and power, to Cross Hill where the domes were built around them.
“They are a fast, smart solution, ideal for a project like this where there are multiple bathrooms required. The fact that they’re modular also means the domes can easily be shifted if required.”
Sarah and Richard Burdon, who own Cross Hill Lodge and Domes said they couldn’t be happier with how the bathroom pods fit into the look and feel of the unique domes.
“When we saw the bathroom pods for the first time in the Concision factory we knew we had made the right decision. They are really beautiful and good quality, they look fabulous,” says Sarah Burdon.
